How We Calculate Savings
Acules calculates savings as the difference between the estimated US benchmark price and the all-in international cost (procedure + facility + standard diagnostics, excluding travel and accommodation). US benchmark prices are derived from publicly available Medicare cost data, FAIR Health commercial benchmarks, and hospital price transparency files.
International procedure prices are sourced directly from partner hospitals and updated quarterly. All-in cost estimates (including flights, accommodation, and visa) are calculated separately in the Acules cost calculator and are not included in the "savings" figures above.
Savings figures represent estimated gross savings before any insurance reimbursement that may apply. Actual net savings depend on the individual's insurance coverage, deductibles, and employer benefit design.
