CLINICAL REVIEW
Our Clinical Quality Standards
Acules does not compromise on quality. Every hospital in our network must meet rigorous clinical standards - and maintain them year after year. Here is exactly how we vet our partners.
NETWORK ADMISSION
What a Hospital Must Demonstrate to Join Our Network
REQUIREMENT 1
Current JCI Accreditation
Joint Commission International accreditation is non-negotiable. No hospital enters the Acules network without active JCI accreditation status. We verify accreditation directly with JCI.
REQUIREMENT 2
Board-Certified Specialist Surgeons
The surgeons performing Acules-referred procedures must hold recognized board certifications in their specialty. International training at accredited programs is verified.
REQUIREMENT 3
International Patient Department
The hospital must have a functional International Patient Services department with English-speaking coordinators who can manage pre-admission, admission, and post-discharge communication.
REQUIREMENT 4
Outcome Data Systems
Hospitals must maintain documented outcome tracking systems. We review complication rate data, readmission rates, and procedure-specific outcome metrics during the application review.
REQUIREMENT 5
International Malpractice Coverage
All partner hospitals must carry current international medical liability insurance applicable to international patients.
REQUIREMENT 6
Clinical Advisory Board Review
New hospital applications are reviewed by the Acules Clinical Advisory Board before approval. The board includes licensed physicians and healthcare quality professionals.
ONGOING MONITORING
Admission Is Not Enough. We Monitor Continuously.
Getting into the Acules network is just the beginning. All partner hospitals are subject to ongoing monitoring and annual re-verification.
Annual Re-Verification
Every partner hospital undergoes annual review: JCI accreditation status is re-confirmed, outcome data is reviewed, and any reported patient concerns are investigated.
Patient Satisfaction Monitoring
Acules collects satisfaction scores from patients at 30, 60, and 90 days post-procedure. Hospitals with declining satisfaction trends are placed under enhanced review.
Complication Rate Tracking
Procedure-specific complication and readmission rates are tracked per hospital. Hospitals whose rates exceed acceptable benchmarks are placed under review or removed.
Network Removal Protocol
Hospitals that lose JCI accreditation, generate unresolved patient complaints, or fall below outcome quality benchmarks are removed from the Acules network. Existing patients are transitioned to alternative hospitals.
